Default Alternator Non sense

So my Alternator died out yesterday. So i ran to advanced auto today to check on a price and they wanted $140.00 for a REBUILT alternator, and ONLY IF I brought in my old one for them to part out. Ridiculous? A little. Needless to say, Im heading to the scrapyard tomorrow.

For an alternator, that isn't bad. I've seen reman's for a lot more. Volume vehicle production does have it's benefits.

Send me the one you have, I'll rebuild it for much less and send it back. I know all that goes wrong and have the parts in stock. You can then return the jy one if ya want.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I need to get a new alternator for my truck but there are two options available for it. There is a 130 amp and 95 amp, does anyone know which one I need?

Check for an automotive electric repair shop near you. Some units can be pricey but I've had alternators and starters repaired for $40 while I waited.
