Default which 4.0 engines are the same? the years?
I have a 1997 Mazda B4000 with a 4.0 V6 in it. what years of Ford Rangers can I get parts off of for the engine?

To be safe, I think anything before 2000. To be extra safe, try to find one around the same year as yours.

no, the SOHC came out in the rangers in 01.


96-2000 4.0 would be a safe bet to swap into your 97.

To be safe don't listen to rocket scientists with advice like this.
Look at an OEM parts site and compare part numbers of the two years in question.
