Default Gas mileage

Ok i know im always posting about gas mileage but mine is killing me and my wallet. I have new wires, plugs, air filter, exhaust and my fuel filter was put in around a year or a little longer ago. Have a new o2 sensor but havent put it in i know that is hurting my gas mileage but with it out im only getting 7 miles to the gallon when my old one was in i was only getting around 8 and my check engine light wasnt coming on but it looked bad. Does anyone else know of anything that i can look at that may be hurting my gas mileage but not my performance ? Truck runs good also only time check engine light has ever came on is with my o2 sensor out. If you could help my wallet and i would really appriciate it. I dont know if this will help anything but the other day just all the sudden my truck started sputtering going up hills and when excellerating fast. I dont know what its deal was but i havent drove my truck enough lately to see if its still doing it. If anyone has an idea to why it could be doing that i'd like to know.

Thats pretty clever would have been easier to say sea foam though. Ill try it i need to get the o2 sensor in and then will try it sense the o2 sensor isnt in. If you have any more ideas of what could help it that would be nice. Thanks. O and if the o2 sensor isnt in could it hurt anything ?

I bought the Superchip Cortex Tuner for my Ranger about a week ago. I haven't tried the fuel economy mode yet but I have a lot more horsepower and I get the same gas mileage as I did before the tuning. As soon as I have to fill up again, I'm going to try the other setting and I'll let you know how it does. But so far, I don't regret spending the $400on it.

alright forget that start with putting your o2 sensor back in and if it still does it then you can replace your catalytic converters as a little gift for yourself. You can verify a clogged cat with a temperature reading. What's the norm, like 850F?

If your running bigger tires that will hurt your mpg's. Maybe look into a gear swap if thats the case.

The sputtering on hills could be a fuel filter and that could hurt your mileage also. Its a cheap stab in the dark.
