Default '94 4.0L v6 restarting problem

Hi everyone, Ive got a problem trying to restart my ranger after its been driven. It happens after short trips or long trips. I go to restart my engine and it fires up right away, but it only reaches about 500 rpm, then dies. I have to try about 3 times before I can get my foot on the throttle just right, and get the rpm's up to keep it from dying.

But It never fails to start, allways fires up right away, but rpm's hardly reach 600.

It starts just fine and rpm's are good when Its been at least 2-3 hours since last ran.

What could be causing this? Bad fuel pump?
Ive just replaced the fuel filter.

It runs just fine once it gets to a steady idle. It has been doing this for about 4 months now.

Maybe I need to check the fuel pressure after it has been ran.

check fuel pressure with the key in the on position, the simple thing to do is to put your head by the gas tank and have someone do that and you should be able to hear the pump kick on. does it run smooth at 600 rpm before it dies or does it miss?

It runs hard at 600 rpm and it sounds like it misses right before the rpm drops completely.
