What mods can i do to give me better mpg?
I don't have a lift or anything that should bring down my mpg; I even have a flat cap but I am still only getting 16mpg in my (03 ranger edge with 4x4), which I know isn't bad. I just wanted to know if there was anything I could do to make it better?

If you have a manual you could try changing what RPMs you run at.... I saw a huge increase in mileage by running about 500-700 RPMs higher

a tuner might help your mileage a little bit. those are one of the very few things that ive seen that actually work to improove gas mileage. a high flow air filter might, but it wouldnt be a huge change if any

Put an egg between your foot and the accelerator pedal.

Just remember all these ideas cost money...so how long will it take to pay off the mod with gas savings?
Exception is the egg mod...

Re: What mods can i do to give me better mpg?
Keep the tires inflated at factory specs. I see you have a 4x4, tire size and thread will affect consumption too (a city tire vs all terrain for example).
Do a full inspection on the truck (spark plugs, wiring, etc), don't abuse of the heater or a/c..
Use regular unleaded, and not intermediate or super.
That's all i can think of for now.

Agreed. I took my wifes 2005 Taurus 3.0 V6 from Memphis to San Antonio. Cruised at 65 for fuel milage. First tank, checked mpg. No gain, 21mpg. Said to heck with And drove it like I stole it (or just drove like a typical Texan), next tank full, 28 mpg. Go figure!
