ive never used autolites but yeah ive heard the same about them that you have. the reason i said Ford sells them is because Crowd88 stated he was concerned that he couldnt get MC in Canada, i was just letting him know that the dealership will be able to get them if they dont already stock them.

i just dont know. i dont know if the MC ones could be made to different specs or what. What I do know is that that on Rock auto, with a code you can get 5% off right now PLUS on the plugs, Honeywell/Autolite is offering a mail-in rebate for $1.25 OFF PER PLUG. they are 2.30 per plug on RockAuto so you can get the for less than $1.00 (after rebate of course)

Ok, FINALLY found a pretty good place to get Motorcraft Platinum SP498 Spark plugs cheap. Summit Racing.com has them for $3.95 a piece.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ACF-SP498/

Like I said, Motorcraft Part number is SP-498

A hundred people in this thread said "DON'T USE ANY OTHER BRAND BUT MOTORCRAFT OR AUTOLITE". So what do you think the correct answer to your question is???

these plugs are generally for nissan and toyota... will they work in a ford... possibly but my guess is that you are gonna end up replacing them in a few months after putting them in... i use either autolite or MC. my mechanic has taught me to use what they come from the factory with... yeah you may pay a lil bit more than the cheapest plugs thta you think that will work but you'll save time and money in the long run from having to change the plugs out every so often.

I'm running Autolite platinums with no problems. This is the first plug change the truck has had so I don't have much experience with other brands but I will say Motorcrafts are sturdy, as they lasted a good 14 years before being changed.

spark plugs are spark plugs. Learned it in auto shop. don't waste your money on spark plugs with fancy names. Because truth is most of those fancy name ones actually burn up the "special materiel" "platinums" or what ever they clam to be on the plug faster then a original plug. Stick with OEM what the truck came with and i think you will be good. shit my plugs/wires are still original from factory. 112k miles on them and 10 years old and no miss. How can you beat that? when ever i create a miss i'm just going to throw the OEM ones back on with new OEM wires.
