Question 4L Redline

Hey guys perhaps this question has already but I was wondering what the redline on SoHC 4L was and is there was a fuel cut off? Thanks this would greatly help since I will be driving 5 Speed Manual and I would hate to overrev.

I wanna say it is in the 5500 - 6000 range.
Mine on my 05 does not change to red like most vehicles do.

----------

There is a inertia switch in the passenger foot area that cuts the fuel.

Thanks, Considering the 4L gets its 207 HP at 5750 RPM I would assume its probably around that region. I think it would be safe to say that pushing past 6 too often might lead you to walk quite a distance to the shop.

I would not reccomend redlining any vehicle on a daily basis.

its hard to determine the red line on these trucks and I would guess the redline on the 3L would be higher then the 4L

The highest I went with the ranger was 4000 RPM during the test drive, The 4L is so torquey, you don't really have to go that much higher

I just looked at pics of 2005-2006 Mustangs with the 4L and they have the redline visible on the instrument panel at 6K RPM, thought I would share it with you since its pretty much the same engine.

the SOHC limiter is between 5500 and 6000. the SOHC likes to rev so dont be afraid to get the RPM's up once and a while. my old 4.0 OHV's felt like they were going to come apart at anything over 3500 RPM. lol
