I guess it depends on what the motor and trans are out of. If you go with a H.O. mustang motor with the T-5 trans, I dont really know if a transfercase will bolt up to the T5 or not. but on the other hand, if you pull a 5.0 out of a F-150, you'll have the motor/trans/transfercase pretty much ready to go

that makes since... but i know cause everything on my truck is new pretty much that a swap of everything is out of the question maybe if the truck was like 10 years old or something but its not. plus i got the exhaust to support a supercharger.. and it doesnt look to hard to do by myself. but i wish i had 4x4 with my truck

blue ranger.. i really dont know why you need more power than what you got. a stock 4.0L puts out quite a bit of power. it would be a waste of alot of money to supercharge it. mine as well buy a engine and tranny then take it to someone proffesional if you reallt urge to have more power then what you got.

i want to keep my factory engine but upgrade it a little.. i really dont want to buy a transmission and engine and then have to upgrade that engine and transmission to my liking... all i wanted to do is get more power out of my factory engine so i wouldnt have problems pulling a trailer or running bigger tires.. so i wouldnt have to regear or anything.. plus the 207 HP is pretty nice but having more would be so much better.

I realize this is an old thread and my first time logging in since March, 2014. My '06 Ranger just turned 41k miles and I'm now retired. Found a used XCharger kit on ebay and my imagination is racing again. Hoping to find someone who has actually installed one of these on a 4.0L SOHC Ranger....

Might want to check out modbox. And the setup they offer. You can also get an Eaton m90 direct from autozone. Fully rebuilt and with a warranty.

Check out my budget buster thread documenting my super charging adventure.l

I missed that this thread was created in 2011. Guessing nothing ever happened here.
