Default K&N filter

I have a 1999 XLT 6 cyl. 4.0L, what would be the best K&N filter to get for the truck?

well i have the K&N 77 series intake with oil filter. its expensive because of the polished tube. but the 63 series is a black tube and that is like 50 bucks less. oh and it has the oil filter

why would you tell him not to get it? it saves money and if you stack the intake with a tuner and exhaust it comes out to a pretty nice gain. plus the filter is reusable. its expensive but the box filter is a good buy for sure. and if the kits are to expensive you can build your own at autozone for half the price(I wish i would have done that) instead of paying like 300 bucks for the kit

how much have you ported your heads? what size cams do you have? Bigger fuel pump/injectors? Higher compression pistons?

well in the end they all pretty much do the same thing. some of them are more expensive because of materials.. like polished tubes, how big the air filter is and other small parts like that. i would look into the 63 series.. i have the 77 series which is the nice polished tube but if you just want the plain black one the 63 series is perfect
