Default Question: rough idle

I have a 1994 Ranger 4.0L It has 214,000 miles on it. I had the engine rebuilt at 155,00 miles. I had a complete tune up about 10,000 miles ago including cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body. Just in the past few days, when I put it in reverse, it will idle rough likes it's going die. Then when I put it in drive, the engine catches up and it takes off fine. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I would check the trans, oil and filter, first, it is possibly a valve.

Thanks for your response. The retired mechanic across the street said the same thing. He said the fluid was by-passing by the valve. I'll have to take it in to a shop. $$$
