Default 1992 ford ranger 4.0 4x4 issue

Hi everyone. so today i bought a 1992 ford ranger with a 4.0L v-6 5 speed. first ford i have ever owned. the truck has 156k miles on it and the motor runs awesome. But the 4 wheel drive doesnt work. the previous owner change the transfer case shift motor and said it didnt fix the problem. im wondering if there are common problem with these trucks (like the 4x4 switches go or something of that nature) and if theres any suggestions to look for any specific things. im going to play around with the search button a lil and see what i can dig up on the site. tommrow im going to go out and do some inspectigating and see what i can find out for my self.

ok so if you look at this picture you can see a little black thing thats attached to the back of the transfer case(Kinda circled in green) and it has a blue and green wire comming out of it and there both cut.
There is also a brown wire that comes out of the transfer case it self that is also cut

(circled in red )There is also another thing that to me looks like it could be a speedo sensor or something and its wire tied into the transfer case you can see the wire tie around the transfer case holding it in

heres a pic of the cut wires.

the truck has auto locking hubs. when i engage the 4wd and drive it forward i hear a clicking noise and it sounded like it was comming from the hubs.

During my research i have read about a couple people with similar issues. and some people were talking about not having vaccum. is there some sort of vaccum sorce thats suppose to go to the locking hubs to get them to engage

those two cut wires look to be part of your transfer case motor so if those are cut chances are your motor isnt going to work

at least it looks like the ones in this picture

brown wire goes from the big plug on bottom left to the shifter at top right its hard to see in this picture

oh and if your shifter motor isnt working your hubs probably wont properly engage and make a sound

so i put the truck up on jack stands today put it in 4wd and the front axels started turning and all you can hear was the front passenger side auto locking hub making a terrible sound. so i got a pic of a (small) exploited view from alldata of the front auto hubs so tommrow im going to take it apart and clean out the locking hub and put it back together and hope it works

Put some manual hubs in it. The auto locking ones are crap.

i recieved the locking hubs today and didnt realize i need to get axel nuts for the manual locking hubs. wheres a good place to get them. the warn paper said the ford dealership should have them but i called Ford and they said there "obsolite"

the reason those three wires are cut is the new t case shift motors dont have those sensors because i just changed mine and i had to cut them, and my 4x4 works great, but im gonna hook them back up even tho they dont seem to affect anything
