1995 Ranger 4.0 LOADING UP
I got this truck 5 years ago or so. It was rolled and I ended up with it from the tow call. I went whole hog on it but then it got put in the shed and has sat for 4 years or so.
I recently pulled it out to start working on it again. It wouldnt start, thought it was the starter, put on new starter. still wouldnt crank. tried turning the crank over with a breaker bar, it wouldnt go. pulled the plugs and again with the breaker bar, it had atleast 2 cylinders full of gas. put the starter back on and cranked it a dozen or so times. New plugs and wires. changed the oil. new fuel filter, new fuel pump.
Now it starts right up and for the most part it sounds good. seems to run a lil rough at a idle. White smoke at the tail pipe, smells overwhelming of GAS! no water in the oil.
Checked for vacuum lines off. checked the fuel pressure regulator ( no gas in the vacuum line) just kinda has me baffled? could it be from the time its sitting, or burning off the gas when it was flooded and wouldnt crank? any help would be GREAT!! thanks Jason
