Default Check engine light is on again.

Well guys, ok the day i got my ranger the check engine light came on it was the o2 sensor. Today i was driving cruising about 45 and boom it pops up again. i have had no problems with anything except for a little tiny bit longer of a crank time. So im guessin its the oxygen sensor again, are these problems somewhat persistant i have read it can happen alot? Also there has been a little bit of white smoke at first start and running NOT BLACK SMOKE i think its just condensation inside my exhaust because of the shape. Somebody help me out.

Also, when the light came on, on the way home from the purchase, we called the previous owner and he said "oh well it may just be the sensor i had to replace it before." Is this problem re-occurring and if its not the sensor what hooks to the sensor to make it read correctly or whatever?

Sensors (such as the O2 sensors) are not used until the vehicle warms up. Startup is in open-loop mode using presets that are not effected by any sensors. Your crank time may or may not have anything to do with what is causing the CEL.

Have the codes read with a scan tool at most any autoparts store. Report back what the codes are. There is nothing anyone can do or suggest until you do that. A CEL without the codes is meaningless.

Huh? No. If by "its one of them" , you mean it's one of the O2 sensors, then no that is not correct. You need to go have the codes read. There are hundreds of different codes and an O2 sensor is only one of them.
