Default Oil getting into large plug on alternator 99 ranger 4.0

I have a 99 Ford Ranger and oil keeps getting into the plug on the back of the alternator. The large black and gray plug that has three prongs in it that you press down. It’s next to the single wire plug. We have looked all over the motor for signs of oil leakage but there doesn’t seem to be any anyplace that we can see . It’s almost as though oil is running down the wires and getting into the plug and filling the plug with oil that way but checking the wires for oil on them there doesn’t seem to be any there either. There is none on the underside of the hood there is none on any of the surrounding hoses or wires. We replaced the valve cover gasket thinking that might have been it.

Has anybody else had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it?
