Default Miss on #6

Well I will let you know I am new to forums , but not to wrenching on my 97 XLT 4×4.
Truck sat for a year or so as I needed to get the tranny rebuilt. Did that.
Now I have a rough running motor, after pulling wires off the coil, one at a time, I deduced the #6 was the issue. Checked with at plug...OK.... replaced plug...still missing....should I suspect a plugged / faulty injector.?
While I am at it how about an affordable diagnostic tool ?

I have hunted for the answer to this for a long time. Especially since no one knew answer. changed out everything that I thought could be the answer. Nothing worked & nothing made sense. At a long shot, I reached in to the #6 injector & moved it back in forth & left it about forty five degrees from where it was. The engine fired up and has not missed out since. It was either a bad wiring connection or a short there at.
