Default 2006 B4000 motor is blown

I blew my 2006 Mazda B4000 motor. Looking for advice/info that states I can use a 2007 motor to swap out the blown motor in my B4000. I know they have different part #'s, however nobody can tell me if they can replace each other...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

99 and up SOHC. are all interchangeable. Either ranger, explorer or mustang. Depending on what the donor vehicle is weather or not have to use your own harness, intake and exhaust manifolds and engine mounts. I swapped from an 06 mustang into my 04 ranger. Had to use my harness, intake, exhaust manifolds and engine mounts. All the same long block. I would strongly suggest getting a donor from a 05 or newer. The cam cassettes were updated to the better ones.

I have my eye on a 2007 Ford Ranger SOHC 4.0L motor, VIN 8th digit matches my current VIN (E), so wondering if this will work or not?

I've found a 2010 Ranger motor also, (less mileage). Do you foresee any issues using this motor instead of a 2007, for my 2006 b-4000?

Not a mech but have done an engine or 2. I know the long blocks are all the same for the 4.0 sohc engines

Will ECU or any other electronics cause me headaches?
//Not sure why my userid changed with this post, but it's still me asking these questions!

Like I said in first post. Sit them side by side and compare. Sensors will be all same , but may have to change harness if going from one year to the other. As well as intake manifolds. ECM will be the same as in your truck do t remove it
