Default Replace O2 Sensor and Now No Power

I replaced the upstream O2 sensor in my 2000 4.0 Ranger. When I reconnected the battery and tried driving it, the transmission shifted hard and the truck had no power. It drove fine in reverse though. The CEL is still on as well. I don't think it matters, but I replaced the oil*as well before*I started it back up Has anyone had this issue before? Is it a faulty O2 sensor?

Replaced the engine or trans oil, if trans, is it full after running for several minutes, as for the 02 sensor, did you plug it back in good, make sure the wires didn't get damaged.

Did you replace one or both and why? What were the symptoms before that led you to change it/them? Also double check all your work, did you use any heat? Possibility of knocking the trans wiring harness loose or another wire somewhere in the vicinity of where the o2 sensors are. What are the code(s) from the CEL?

I only replaced the upstream O2 sensor. I was hoping the downstream one isn't bad yet.

The only symptom was the CEL.

No heat. I was actually surprised as to how easy the sensor came off after being on there 18 years.

I'm checking now at the wiring.

Just pulled the codes:

P1451 FORD - EVAP Control System Canister Vent Solenoid Circuit Malfunction
P1747 FORD - Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid 'A' Short Circuit
P0743 FORD - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit
P0750 FORD - Shift Solenoid 1 Circuit Malfunction
P0755 FORD - Shift Solenoid 2 Circuit Malfunction
P0760 FORD - Shift Solenoid 3 Circuit
P0765 FORD - Shift Solenoid 4 Circuit
P0135 FORD - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0155 FORD - O2 Heater Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 1

I'm checking the wiring now. I might try replacing the tranny fluid since I don't know when it was done.

Ok, first... There are two upstream o2 sensors, one for each bank and a single downstream o2 sensor. So I'm a little confused which one was replaced of the three.

But regardless you have no actual o2 sensor failure codes there. They are heater circuit codes meaning a wiring problem to the sensors. Same with the trans codes. You must have broken or unplugged the trans harness connection or fried the ecu. Its statically impossible to lose all the transmission electronics at once without it being a connection or major ecu failure. The evap codes are again wiring related.

Your trans is running in limp mode which is why its shifting hard with no power. You have a major electrical issue.
