has anybody used the PCN Perfomace Chip.I just installed can't tell if it's working.Im getting around 15 mpg and seems little better on power.just wondering if anybody has tried this or do i send it back.
That is about what I get with an automatic and 4X4. My friend put cold air induction and dual exhaust with the performance chip and he said it runs better and sounds GOOD but has not seen a increase of mpg but it sounds good doing it.

The 'chips' and 'cold air induction' setups will lighten your wallet is all. They will not boost performance. The Ranger already has cold air induction from the factory, drawing air in behind the headlight. And the only way to actually 'tune' the truck is with an actual full tune, not a 'chip'. And expecting better mpg AND more power is counter-intuitive. Usually you can have one, but at the expense of another.
There's a ton of youtube videos of people taking apart these "chips" most of them were literally just a switch, led light, and a random circuit board not hooked to anything. The functional ones were at best designed to just give false maf sensor readings to the ECU. Even obd2 tuners that cost $400+ and actually can change settings are not always functional unless you use it on a dyno, otherwise you're just guessing or getting lucky.
