Default Old 4.0 (1990)

Is there a section for the older Rangers 1990 is what I have and I get tired of seeing mostly newer rigs which limits responses on my issues. Thanks Jim

I don't believe there is at the moment. Basically the 4.0OHV did change till around 2000ish and then it was the 4.0SOHC and even though '96 and up is OBD II troubleshooting should be basically the same.

I do understand the seeing mostly newer rig questions and is sometimes frustrating when search for a resolution.

Good evening sir! I believe that you have a few posts regarding this issue. I responded to one of them (1990 4.0 4WD Starting). While my vehicle is four years newer, the info I posted there may help you. On my truck (OBD1) here is where and what the plug looks like. It may help you. Also, there are very good YouTube videos that can show you how to read your codes.

Thank you Ned . Yes I read your reply from my other posts. Your info was helpful. I found a capped plug where inner fender meets firewall on the passenger side. Its labeled EC but I can,t read the rest of it. I will have grandson look at it..
