Re: Large leak from firewall hose
I was wondering the same thing. I don't see a large leak of anything, and it's not clear from these even what we should be looking at. Maybe add some shaky red circles and shaky red arrows to help us?

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
He's pointing out the nipple from the lower firewall. Its either a drain for the cowl which I doubt it is. I think its a condensation drain from the A/C plumbing inside the dash that vents to the outside.

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
Ah, I see it now. In the first pic it's right under the curve of the AC line. I don't know it that is what it is, but my AC does drain somewhere in that vicinity.

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
Sorry for not responding quicker, i circled it in yellow. Its like the end of a hose and it leaks down onto my exhaust system. And to update you guys, it has now started leaking INTO the truck on the passenger side. Im in the process off pulling up the carpet and trying to figure out where its coning from

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
heater core, especially if its coolant coming out of the evap housing drain. you won't be able to see that by pulling up the carpet

X2, definitely sounds like the heater core is leaking.

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
That is a suck-ass job for sure. After doing it on my '98, I could understand why the shop wanted $700 to put in a $40 part.

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
It's summer, just by pass it for now so it will stop leaking. Disconnect the 2 heater hoses from the core and use a male to male fitting to connect them together.

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
If you have a garage that you can do the work in once you need the heater, sure. If you don't, fix it now. So you don't have to freeze your ass off doing it. But bypassing it until you actually do the work is a good idea. Maintain the coolant level and stop the mess in the cab.

Re: Large leak from firewall hose
Does the interior have a slight "log cabin syrup" smell? If so than that's a pretty good confirmation that you may have a heater core leak...
