Hi Folks!
What is considered normal oil consumption in a 4.0 OHV engine with 130.000 miles (210,000 km)?
I change the oil and filter every 6.000 miles (10.000 Km) using always Synthetic Motorcraft 5W30
I observe consumption ± 2,7 qt every 6.000 miles (± 2,6 liters every 10,000 km)... ± 0,27 qt per 600 miles avarege (± 260 ml per 1000 Km)
No leak, no burning, no smoke... but the oil is lowering the level, that's a fact.
It is within the normal range?

Normal would be 0 to a half quart of oil per six thousand miles.

I wouldn't recommend synthetic in a 1998. That could be the problem as the seals were designed for conventional.
