1991 4.0 starting issues
Hey everyone,
I have a 1991 Ford ranger with 4.0. This truck has not run in about 3 years. It had some bad gas that i diluted with good gas.
The truck needed a new crankshaft sensor and the pigtail that goes to it, because it did NOT have spark. It does now. At least one spark plug does. I will check the others tomorrow. A year ago I checked the resistances in the coilpack, and it was within spec(its a new coil pack.)
The fuel rail has fuel pressure.
The previous owner had done some wire rigging... pretty poorly, might I add.
I have done an oil change.
So I turned the truck over, I didn't get any starting. But because it has been off for years I figured its gonna take a bit to get it running. Is there anything else I should do?
Tomorrow I am going to pull codes from the computer, just incase something related to that is faulty. The ignition module was tested and is working. Does it have to be screwd back onto the truck to for it to work properly?
Any help and guidance would be much appreciated!!!
