Default Check engine light

Well the ‘check engine’ light came on yesterday, so I checked the obvious oil, antifreeze, gauges are all good. I notice a slight misfire also. I can’t find my code reader right now but is this something to be worried about immediately? I just got this truck and it didn’t have a battery so I just put a new one in and drove twice once 100km and 300km. Thanks!
