Default crankshaft position sensor

now mechanic thinks it's my crankshaft sensor giving me intermittent starting problems. anybody experience this?

I've had one go bad that didn't throw any codes. When you cranked the engine over it would putter and try to start but would not run. Took it off and tested it with a multimeter and it was ok. New one on and it ran again.

new project: dirt track modified racing at the local saturday night track.
