Default Camshaft torque spec need advice

Some quick advice please.

Ranger 4.0 sohc.

****** lifters are out of the head

Set the cam in, tq spec is 54inlb then at 144inch lb.

When its 54inlb i can grab a lobe and rotate the cam. When i do the 2nd step at 144 inchlb (12ftlb)

I can no longer rotate the cam by grabbibg the lobe. It seems tight?

Is it normal?

If I remember correctly the cam gear bolts (if that's what you're talking about) aren't that light of a torque spec. I think it should be around 68 ft/lbs per cam. The one on the back is reverse thread so make sure you get a torque wrench that'll read accurately with left hand threads.
