Angry 1998 4.0L Ranger turbo sounding noise

Hey guys new here, today while driving my ranger just started making a turbo sounding noise on acceleration. It happens all the time on acceleration as well as driving. Have also lost a lot of power. I also got a P0402 code not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any leads help thank you.

It probably has everything to do with it. If your EGR system is not functioning properly, you will lose all kinds of power. Especially if there are leaks, blockages, stuck open, stuck closed or some where in between. The flow sensor could be malfunctioning etc... This is where I'd start looking first anyway.

Thank you I will try it tomorrow. What is the best way to check for blockages?

Most common blockage usually occurs in the area where the EGR connects to the intake... removal would be necessary... and helpful for testing the EGR with vacuum.
