1998 4.0 p304 misfire
Ive been chasing this code for some time. I replaced cables, spark plugs and now I removed intake mani and tested resistance in injectors. They all passed. What else can it be? I am about to replace the gasket and put everything back not happy because I was hoping it was a bad injector. Anyway My regular standard compression tester has no fitting that works with this engine it seems like it don't reach the spark plug hole. Cannot thread it in.

check compression and fuel if not try the cam sensor take out and clean it

p0304 is a random misfire code for #4 cylinder. the cause for the code could be a bad plug, plug wire fuel injector loss of compression (blowed head gasket burnt valve bad piston ) bad coil pack. the good thing is the problem is located at #4 cylinder. try switching the plug and plug wire over to another cylinder to see if you can get the problem the move to that cylinder

It end up being the injector. It passed the resistance test but after moving it to cylinder 5 it was fine for some days then it threw me the p0305 so I changed them but now I Am getting both banks running to rich? p0172 and p0175...I try to check for vacuum leaks but could not spot any with carb cleaner. I might be replacing the intake gasket soon

Vacuum leak would cause a lean code, 171 and 174, not a rich code.

Check spark plug cable's. Just fixed mis fire 6 on my 4.0 by rearranging wires man come on

I got the same issue on my 2000 4.0 I already replace the fuel injector, spark plug, and spark plug cable but before replacing all that I measured the resistance and it all checked out good as well. A few months ago I got the same issue and it ended up being a cracked spark plug. So I'll be replacing the coil pack and see how that goes.
