Default Re: Running extremely rough after being driven.

so, this seemed similar to my issue and i cant figure out how to post my own thread. anyhow, its pretty similar i usually have a hard time starting it up, but i always do and can rev it up all i want. sounds good. but once i go to drive it feels/sounds fuel starved. it has a fresh fuel pump and filter. checked to see if the cat was clogged but no luck. have tried MAF, IAC, coolant temp sensor, o2 sensor. i have no clue whats wrong and everyone i ask says everything i already replaced. any help is defianately apreciated

Mine is still starting and running smooth after 6 months. My problem was the donut gasket between the EGR tube and the upper intake manifold.

On mine (4.0) it's kind of hard to see, but there's a metal tube that pokes up into the intake manifold from below on the driver's side. The tube is covered loosely with a braided insulating jacket.

When you have a rough idle, try spraying some starter fluid up into that hole and if you get an idle surge that's your problem.
