Default 04 ranger hesitation/fuel problem???

been having a problem of late with hesitation/ bucking. doesnt happen all the time but has been getting more frequent. codes i am getting are for catylitic converter and cam sensor. the bucking got real bad one time when i was cruising at 70 and it just kept decreasing and bucking till i was down to a bucking 10 mph but if i stopped, she kept idling. mechanic doesnt think its fuel pump because he says they just go, they dont usually go gradually. i can get her going on the highway and hold 60-70 mph but then if i try increasing speed or when i come out of a toll booth, it starts bucking like crazy and takes time to get it back going. any ideas??????

Does it stink like rotten eggs outside your truck/exhaust? If not, then your cat converter is probably not the problem, but an O2 sensor might throw the cat converter code.
