ICM location on a 97 Ranger XLT 4.0L

So, the last few weeks my truck has been having some starting issues. Most of the time I was able to just clean the battery posts and maybe jiggle the cable and it would start. Now it doesn't start at all. It's not the fuel pump, not the battery, not the starter..not the ignition switch (I think) so I think it is the ICM. I can get one cheap at a used parts store so if I am wrong no big deal but I can't even find it!! I was told the drivers side wheel well...then in the firewall on the drivers side. If I could just find it I think I'll be okay and I should be able to replace it. But basically it turns over but no start. Sometimes I was able to just keep starting it and it would come on. Any help would be appreciated very very much. I hope I am being descriptive enough as to make it easier for everyone. Thanks guys

Did you already check the battery voltage? Bad connections can cause the battery to not charge properly and be hard to start. Is the corrosion cleaned off from the terminals, the wires connected to the terminals, as well as the posts?

I did. Even changed the terminal posts. I am not sure if the wire itself is bad. last time if happened I went through all the motions to make sure the connection was clean and clear.

Need to check and see if you have spark and such. By the way a 97 has a PCM not an ICM.

Okay, so it's in the computer right? I have spark coil pack is good spark plugs are good just replaced them a few months ago

the computer is under the master cylinder there should be a big flat wide connector going to it btw

There isn't anything under the master cylinder. Found the computer in the firewall. My hood is slightly damaged I think water damaged the computer or the wires. I have the pushrod V6 vin X Got fuel and spark I would have to be the PCM/ICM/computer right? That's before the coil pack sends the signal to whatever cylinder needs to fire first right? I'll also check the crankshaft position sensor as well.

You said you have fuel and spark correct? Just because you have fuel pressure does not mean the injectors are spraying fuel into the cylinders.
