Can anyone tell me how to remove the lower air cleaner box on a '09 4.0 V6. Its the one that the air cleaner element sits in. Its attached to the inside of the fender but I don't know what kind of fastener is used. Since there doesn't appear to be any way to get to the back side, I'm guessing its some kind of push in, an arrow shaped one held in by a rubber gasket of some type. Has anyone taken theirs out for any reason? Did you have to take out the wheel well liner to get to the back side?
Not that anyone would be interested necessarily, but I've made a couple of changes to my truck. The truck is a Oxford white '09 XLT SuperCab, 4X4, 4.0L V6 w/5-speed. So far I have put on a set of Goodyear Wrangler 31X10.5s and a factory bed liner that I painted with black acrylic and grit to keep things from sliding around. Next was a Lund tonneau cover. Then I had a set of custom rocker bars made by a local shop called Kustomz. They did an awesome job. Today I had some custom vinyl graphics put on and next week is the bumper and pre-runner bar from Custom 4X4 in OK city and a 8K winch. I'm also trying out a K&N drop in filter, which seems to be giving me better gas mileage but won't know until I
fill up next. If any cares, I can take some Kodaks and put them up on the forum for your kind consideration.
