Default Flowmaster 40 series exhaust

New to the forums/truck world. Never done an exhaust before and I was wondering if when ordering parts if I can order a flowmaster 40 series muffler if I have to get one specifically for my Ranger 4.0 or is the muffler universal?

If you are just buying a muffler, they are universal. But instead of blindly ordering a random muffler, you need to figure out what pipe diameter you want and configuration.

Okay, thank you! How would I figure that out? I appreciate your patience with me!

You need to figure out what you want top end or quietness off the line.

I've got a flowmaster 40 with 3" dual 2.5" out and 3.5" tips. I think it sounds pretty good. Usually with v6's the smaller the pipe raspier the sound.
