well i tested the the pressure, when i first hooked it up and turned the key on it was at 30 p.s.i. below the requirements for the truck, the second time it ran about 40 p.s.i. when i did it a little while ago after driving it the first reading was 19 p.s.i. the 40 p.s.i. i am no real sure that fuel pump is bad, but probably going bad

Has it been long since the fuel filter was changed? Sometimes the fuel filter wil get clogged and show numbers that are off. If your not sure, take the filter off and tap the end that the fuel enters onto a brick or somethin and see if any trash comes out. If something comes out, replace the filter and try again. If the numbers still read low look into a fuel pump. Another question, is a check engine light on? Sometimes idle control valves stick too on some fords. While your at it take the idle control valve off and get some carb cleaner and clean the mess out of it. Had somethin like that on my sisters and moms truck and even my own and cleaned them all and the trucks ran better.

i changed the fuel filter about a month ago, the check engine light is on because the emissions from the fuel evap canister, the soleniod and sensor are bad, but i have cleaned the idle control valve because it was making a bad humming noise when idleing.
