2005 Ranger dies in traffic. Starts hour later.
2 years ago my Ranger died a few times when normally driving. It would start up within a few hours and run normally. I took it to Ford the third time and they drove it multiple days, had it a week and diagnosed nothing. I drove 7 miles and it happened again. In shop once more and no diagnosis. That was at 30k miles. No problems for 2 more years and it started doing it this week. I have yet to take it to Ford as I am no longer under warranty. The difference this time is that I can take it to to 5000+ rpms and easily hit 90, but if I park and rev it it will not go beyond 3250 rpms when floored and the engine whirs up and down unsteadily while hovering around 3250. It'll run a day and then die, usually upon slowing down for a stop sign or light. It has a full tank of fresh gas.
