my plow brackets busted off and busted up my ac condenser, can i take out the condenser and plug a line to make the truck driveable again, and just take off the ac pump and buy a shorter belt so the pump is not running dry?

Re: busted ac condenser
Just unplug the electrical connection on the compressor and drive it. No need to remove anything.

Re: busted ac condenser
No need to unplug the compressor because the system has a low pressure shutoff switch to keep the compressor from running dry and drawing in debris.

Re: busted ac condenser
If coolant is coming out you damaged your radiator and it will need to be fixed or disaster will visit your engine.

Re: busted ac condenser
Not coolant. After I had a good look found the line busted off my trans cooler it's trans fluid. So can I plug off the inlet line to that until I get a new one. Truck barely gets used anyway

Re: busted ac condenser
Nope. You gotta fix it before you can even start the engine. If you just plug it, you will ruin your transmission.

Shouldn't ruin anything, but it won't be circulating through the cooler. Not a Ranger, but I have done this to a Ford slushbox before with no trouble.

Re: busted ac condenser
Interesting. I know that on Allison transmissions you cant plug the cooler lines or you will loose cooler flow, which is also directly related to the flow in the converter. Too much converter pressure and bad things start to happen.

Why not loop the cooler lines together?
