Fuse From Battery Fuse Link Blowing
2002 Ford Ranger XLT 6 Cyl 4.0L
Hi guys, was out and about today and after stopping for a while I went to start the truck and nothing happened. No lights on the dash but anti theft light still flashing and a very low noise clicking and door open chime when key removed from the ignition.
Thinking it may be a battery problem I had a look but couldn't see anything obvious. Someone kindly offered a jump start, hooked up my jump cables and when I turn the key everything lit up fine but on trying to start all I got was a fast ticking/whirring sound but no start
I then checked the SFE 30 amp glass fuse that runs alongside the red positive battery cable and found it blown. I replaced the fuse, tried to start and still nothing and that fuse also blew.
Replace the fuse again and tried a jump start, dashboard lit up okay, engine whirred then caught and turned over so was able to get me and my dogs home.
On getting home I switched off and tried to start again and again nothing, no dash lights and the fuse was once again blown.
I'm no mechanic but if I have some idea of what the problem/s could be I'm pretty good at fixing them, just need to know what the problem might be.
Any advice would be most welcome guys.
