I replaced both tensioners a year ago but a few months ago the rattle got really bad after a road trip from coast to coast. So it makes a lot of noise now and any time I bring it to high rpm I feel like it's gonna let go lol. How long have you guys rode yours while it's rattling and sounds like crap. If it does ever go I'll just drop in a used engine no big deal but I'm just wondering how far I can push it.

My wife had a 99 Explorer Sport w/the 4.0 SOHC & when we sold it there was 275K miles on it & it would rattle on start up for probably the last 100 - 125K miles.
