Default loss of power

i went wheelin today, and i was trying a hill climb that no1 else could come close to doing. everytime i tried id get about 10 feet from the top and id lose all power to my wheels and the truck would about shut off. its a very steep hill. so im guessing the fuel went to the back of my tank causing the loss of power? what can i do to make it so it doesnt do that anymore?

I would think it has more to do with having an automatic. But if you've got a certain amount of gas in the tank and your truck suddenly experiances a sharper angle, then yeah I suppose your fuel pickup could be left high and dry. And with that hypothetical you would resolve it by moving your pickup location further back in your tank. But proof of concept is another thing since that might continually overtax your pump. OR climbing hills only on a full tank.

Really I think it's both.

Well that's not really a good idea since what would happen when you made it over the hill and were now traveling downhill!?. Plus it would put more demand on the pump. I said it only to entertain your notion!

Umm. Well the logical solution would be to not go off roading with an empty fuel tank...??
