Default Re: So what can cause this?

I just pulled the Battery Cable today. Put the MAF on drove the truck all day today with no issues. Parked it in my drive way, and took my big boy F250 out and went to the river today. Came home tonight went to fire it up, the truck started for a second, then died, tried several times till it would no longer start. I listened for fuel pump, didn't hear it. Reset the Inertia switch, and nothing. The fuel pump is dead, that would be the only thing I can think of so. So much for the MAF sensor being bad.

it goes by wheel base. yours should be 118". you can measure from the center of the front wheel to the center of the rear wheel

I think you should at a minimum spray some starter fluid into the TB and see if it starts. You also should do a fuel pressure test( they are simple) and see what you have koeo, koer and also see how much the pressure drops in 5 minutes after the truck is off.

any chance your plugs got toassted?

you also should change the fuel filter again

wow, kinda hard to follow this thread, pull the plugs clean & re gap = free
replace fuel pump, and fuel filter,
Sounds like you poured alot of stuff in kinda all at once, I'm not a fan of additives.
hope for the best. clear the codes and start again,
Good luck

To make this thread easier to follow. No nothing was added all at once. I did some Motorcraft Pm 3 cleaner in before I did my oil change and plug change. I poured in some stp fuel treatment down the line after I begin having my miss fires, and my power loss and no acceleration. I did run some seafoam. I pulled the plugs and they are fine.

The fuel pump isn't even kicking on. The relay clicks, but the fuel pump does nothing. I am going to replace it. I did spray some starting fluid into the throttle body, it fired right up and ran for all of 3 seconds proving that it was indeed my fuel pump. I reset the inertia switch, and even unplugged it. I've unplugged the battery cable and it didn't fix it. I've swapped my wiper relay with the fuel pump relay, being as they are both the same numbers on top the relay, and the same plug and size. It didn't fix it.

So I will assume my problem was a failing fuel pump, considering it got better following the days of failure, and just went out. The only thing else it could be is the PCM not letting the fuel pump work for whatever reason, or at least that is what I was told by a Ford Mechanic... Hopefully tomorrow I can get a fuel pump put in her and get her running again and continue on to my "camodown2" truck. Hes my inspiration... it was going to be fxwannabe but he was posting in a thread helping me, and jsut fucked off after I posted pictures up and all for him, and he doesn't respond to pms. So I'll be building my truck like camodowns, except it'll be white. I already got the metal bumper for it, and the rims that are a close match. Having my rear end built here soon... It won't have power windows or nothing classy but maybe some better seats..
