Default Kerosene in oil

I read somewhere that putting kerosene in oil to clean and de-gum works really well. Has anyone ever done this or knowledgable on the subject? Is that a good idea or no?

Yeah, a lot of people used to do that back in the non-detergent days.
No need anymore if you change your oil regularly and don't get it so hot that it breaks down.
The biggest problem with doing this type of thing is that if you do have a bunch of junk caked up in your engine and you put something in there to break it loose fast, it's going to plug your oil pump pickup screen, restricting or blocking oil flow.
Change your oil when it gets dirty and you'll be fine.

I would recommend against it
Also don't put a "cleaning" additive in the oil Ex Seafoam

I made this mistake in my teenage years on a 4.0 jeep. It was an older vehicle and after using SeaFoam in the crank case to "clean" it out it leaked like a sieve. Don't get me wrong the product did it's job. But the years of build up on the gaskets where taken away and the gaskets failed. Leading me to have to replace the rear main as well as the oil pan gasket.

CHange the oil, and if you want change the oil sooner for the first few time. But i would NEVER using anything to "clean" my crank case again.
Just my $0.02

Have you ever heard of Auto RX. It's a oil additive that is not a solvent, but rather very slowly breaks down sludge in oil. I read it better for older engines because it doesn't release all the sludge at once. I'm thinking about using it, any opinions on it?

I would't use it. I would just get good oil and change it the way you should.
