I think so. Doesn't sound like a timing chain issue. I'll try and get my video up later probably around dinner time

this should be a link to a video with the noise it is making.
Don't drive it until you've fixed the problem.
Pull the valve cover and see what's going on.

Mine is an 02. It was the chain, and like i said the problem I had was aftermarket tensioners. Put Ford ones in, sound went away

wow that's so weird that just using an aftermarket tensioner made all that noise. i always use ford or motorcraft parts i get them really cheap off rock auto.

so i believe i found the problem. i was missing this very small washer that goes between the engine and the tensioner.

this should be a picture with the ring next to it that i was missing.

Yeah if you watched the video of that one guy on YouTube, he failed to mention that washer. Unfortunately, I don't think that's your problem. I put my rear one in without the washer and it didn't give me a problem. Worth a try though

I bought mine the Ford Parts website. It was 90 something for one and 70 something for the other. The washers which you need 2 of are 8 bucks a pop. 6k254 is the part number of the tensioners. 6m252 is the number for the washers. Note that it is the same part number for both tensioners but they are NOT the same. Look for the ones that say LH and RH and are In the price range I said
