Default Transmission Help!

So I helped my buddy changed the clutch on his 4.0 Liter Ranger with 204,000 miles. We got every thing installed and bled the master cylinder and topped off the tranny fluid but for some reason it doesn't want to go into gear sometimes. It wont go into reverse unless you put into 2nd gear for a minute, then it will sometimes not go into first gear. I was thinking about putting all new tranny fluid in and maybe some Lucus Oil additive as well. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ken

When you had the shifter out did you sure everything was in the neutral position. When you reinstalled it.

We did. You can cycle through all the gears when the truck is off.
