Default Is there some thing wrong with my 2005 FX4?

I have a 2005 FX4 with 35K miles on it. It has the 4.0 V6 5 speed auto. When I first got it, it would spin the tires pretty easily. Now it won't even make them chirp. It hardly even spins them when the road is wet. I've driven it like a granny since I've had it new. It does not drip or burn any oil. It still gets the same gas mileage as it did when it was new. It does not stall or hesitate and runs fine, just slow off the line. I saw the specs say something like 0-60 in 8 secs for this model. It does 0-60 in 10 secs now. I live at 6500 ft elevation now but I heard this motor runs great even at high altitude. Is there anything wrong with this?

I assuming no warning lights? If none, then try the throttle cable mod and maybe a tune up. I guessing the Throttle cable mod will fix your problem. Where ya at in CO, I'm in Brighton.

Good luck

Im in Trinidad. I tried the cable mod already. It helped with the passing power allowing the transmition down shift faster but it did not help any with the off the line acceleration. I have no lights comming on. I've tried fuel injector cleaner also. I couldn't tell any difference.
Is the performance Im getting normal for the 4.0 engine?

It is for mine. 0-60 in anywhere from 8-10 sec is great for my 4.0l. I get about 17-18 mpg's almost all highway. You could start to drop some serious money on this truck by going above and beyond a tune up, I.E. intake, exhaust, coil pack, synthetic fluids...etc. IMHO, if your getting a consistent MPG, not burning oil, not loosing coolant, not hearing weird noises, idles smooth, and no warning lights. I believe you truck is fine, the cool, newness of it might be wearing off. Welcome to FRF though. Search around the site to see what we have done to increase HP, if that is what you want.

Thanks, I was getting about 19-20 MPG highway on a long road trip to NV a few months back. I was only going about 60-65 the whole way. Around town realy sucks. I get about 11-12 MPG, but all my trips are very short. Everything in town is with in 2.5 miles and there are few hills around here. I make 4 trips back and forth to school and 4 trips to Wal-mart everyday taking my wife to work. I guess all that starting up and shuting down kills your city milage.

I may consider a tuner in the future, new plugs and maybe and K&N filter but nothing more. Any ideas on which tuner to get?
