Default What happened: Spark plug and wires changed and now engine sounds rough

I replaced my spark plugs and wires. I believe that I got the formation on the distributor right. My engine makes a faint put put noise, idles very roughly, and the exhaust is in whites puffs and smells like gasoline. I think one of the cylinders is not firing. Can someone help. It would be nice if someone knew the official numbers for the distributor terminals. Thanks

I would say u got the wires backwards

It would be nice if you had a signature. I could help you out with the numbers. Not knowing any info at all on your truck makes it hard to help you out.

Here are some pictures maybe one of them is right

2.9 engine

2.0L and 2.3L engine

Rangerluc on our engines the 1,2,3 is firewall side of coil pack/ passenger side of engine.
The 4,6,5 is headlight side of the coil pack and driver side of engine.
