Default 94 4.0 spark only half the time

I have a 94 4.0 and I've been having starting problems recently so I finally got it to het read at a shop and they replaced the tps temp and crank sensors now it only starts half the time when it dosent start it's because there is no spark but when there is it fires right up it's very weird but could it be the ECM? Ignition switch? Need help asap

First things first......how did this shop conclude that all the parts (tps, temp and crank sensors) were all bad . Question #2, what does, "I finally got it to het read at a shop" mean? The other unexplained mystery is, you say, "now it only starts half the time ". What was going on before/different this "now it only starts half the time " and the shop visit?

*Suggestion: regardless, cut your loses with that shop (very unlikely three items ALL failed ALL at once) and, based on history of 94'ish Ranger 4.0's and random no starts, first check the EEC and FP relay for functionality. Failure of these is semi common for your model year.

They hooked it up to the scanner and they were all out of range before the truck would not start when hot had to let it sit for about an hour and a half then it would fire up the shop is family run and we know them well they do good work It does run much better when it does decide to give it spark when it dosent start there is no spark atall

----------

And your question number two was auto correct screw up I mention to say I finally got it to a shop to get it read by a scanner I got the truck in Febuary and has been acting up since then

----------

I guess I should also explain how the truck ran before the new sensors were put on first off it wouldn't start when hot and you always had to give it full throttle to start it then right after it started it would want to cut out and stall and when itches cold it would be lagged for a little bit but after these parts were put on it runs amazing but now only getting spark to the plugs sometimes and other times there is none

The next time it doesn't start, pop the hood and either snap the EEC relay with your finger and while listening for the fuel pump, try to start. Or better yet, put in a proven to be good relay. This because of the last two lines in post two. The contacts in there sometimes get pitted/corroded.

Check your plug wires. I cannot count the number of times I worked on vehicles in the shop with this problem. It is very common for plug wires to develop micro fractures in the skin that will ground the pulse charge or jump wires when hot. Note, the micro fractures will expand when hot, hence the issue at operating temp, but not when cold. I had this happen on a personal vehicle once, mid 80's datsun truck w/ dual plugs. THEY WERE BRAND NEW WIRES! I threw close to $1500 in parts at it before figuring out that the exhaust side plug wires were jumping spark, which bucked the timing, and caused no starts when warm, as well as power decreases and stutters going down the road.
