Question Not to be repetitive but...

1993 Ranger, 4.0

Drove to the gas station, shut off, and then cranked over just fine.
Went to a different gas station because the first one had a broken air pump, shut off and started up just fine. Drove home, after 15 minutes I tried to start again, nothing.
Starter does a single click and that's it. My batt gauge reads a little lower than normal but definitely enough to engage the starter and crank over. Headlights, radio, everything else works fine.
I also JUST had my starter REBUILT maybe 3 weeks ago.

-Battery is only a year and a few months old and although I haven't load tested it I am 99% sure my battery is fine, I took the leads off, and cleaned them, tightened connection up, same problem.

If it was a loose connection and the starter wasnt able to draw enough amperage to fully spin wouldn't it make several clicking or grinding noises?

If there's anything else I forgot to mention let me know, most likely I'll call up my mechanic tomorrow and see whats up, if I beat you guys to the solution I'll post it up for anybody else who might encounter the same problem.
** Fuel pump runs and stops after key on.

Well, I crank her over this morning and she strts just fine. Now definitely leaning towards faulty wiring or maybe an ignition component that's on it's last leg.
Now my next step is to isolate the problem before I get stranded somewhere.

i just had this problem with my truck, though mine is older. My positive battery cable was frayed. So when it would not start i took them off an put them back on. eventually i just bought a new cable. but yes, i believe it probally is faulty wiring too.
