check engine light is on

I have a 4.0 liter v-6 in my 2002 ranger edge pickup it has 86,000 orginal miles on it my check engine light just came on I 'm not sure why though since my truck seems to be running fine any suggestions as to why it would of came on ? this is my first post in the forums as I just joined today .

Use an obd2 pull codes and it will tell u
