Seems like another one of those occasions in where people get into a piss contest.

This is a discussion board looking for feedback on diagnosis. People are free to post any information they feel is relevant or might help. Whether the reader follows the advice is not relevant.

I am asking for feedback because I have been told by my mechanic that they can not diagnose a problem that is not being presented. Since the problem tends to not persist for very long, by the time a mechanic gets to it the problem has gone away. Got the same response from my local Ford dealership service department, except they were still willing to replace parts without any guarantee it would fix the problem.

So for now, I am simply asking for feedback, because until the problem presents itself I can not use systematic and methodological process to zero in on the problem.

All the feedback has been very helpful! Thank you all for posting.

Still waiting on the truck to act up... maybe in another 6 months lol

Hi Fernando,
Thank you, also I understand your frustration My truck went to 2 mechanics and it would never do it for them, finally the 3rd mechanic it went to it wouldn't start and they had to push it in the garage lol. So that said, after it ending up on a flat bed a couple of times, it turned out to be the Crankshaft position sensor. Do not know if that is your problem but that's what happened to me.
