Default 95 ranger idles rough and wants to die

Hi guys I'm new to forum. I just bought a 95 4.0 ranger a couple weeks ago. The guy I got it off of said it was idling choppy and he ran the codes on it and it came back bank 1 too lean. He said he replaced the MAF. Well it's been fine until today my battery died because I just put subs in it and wired the amp to the wrong fuse so it stayed on all night. Anyways I charged the battery and it started idling really choppy I had to stay in the gas if it would drop below 1500 Rpms it wanted to die. So I took it for a short drive and everytime I put it in drive or reverse i had to put it almost to the floor to keep it running. It almost seems like a fuel problem to me.

Just wanted to see what y'all think it could be.

Disconnect whatever you connected and see if that works.
Check to be sure you didn't leave a wire disconnected from the battery or have a bad connection.
Is the alternator charging ?

Ok it's idling fine now but only when the heater is on. If I turn the heater off it IDles down and shuts off. Anyone got any ideas?

You've got an electrical problem. Check all the ground points.

Have you changed the air idle control?

I have a 95 (original owner though) and I was having a problem with my idle. I replaced the idle motor and the egr sensor and was still having a problem. Turned out that I still had original spark plugs and wires. Replacing those helped as did replaced the vacuum lines. You might want to have a look at your wires and hoses. If there are some old ones on there, that is going to be your problem.
