Rough idle, chugging when speeding up.

2000 4.0 186.000 miles changed the spark plugs, still intermittent rough idle, Speeding up chugging or surging @ 50-60 mph harsh cutting out. Any help would be great full

well, check for any codes or anything first. then put a new fuel filter in it and see if that helps..it may be your injectors dirty or clogged or something. then check all the emissions nonsense make sure everything is working..

Thanks..fuel filter has about 5000 miles on it. new plugs no idiot light yet. Ran some lucas fuel cleaner. next i thought plugwires. idle air vlave.coil.?

This truck has two o2 sensors upstream and two down. With the motor chugging at intermittent speeds. Which one should change first?

I am now throwing a code...Do not remember it. stated that # 3 cylinder is misfiring. Changed the plug and it will come back..Going to change the coil pack and put in a new spark plug, And new wires. i will post when it is done..I also put in 3/4 of a can of seafoam.. Seemed to clam it down a little bit.
